The Health Benefits of Joining The Forest
A growing trend within the private club setting is the expansion of wellness services and programs as Millennials and Generation Z are leading this movement with baby boomers quickly on their tracks. The Forest Country Club is already a step ahead with not only our contemporary clubhouse but our constantly expanding wellness services and programs, one of which is our new wellness studio and fitness center. Golf is still the priority of country clubs but, now, many people are searching for a club that offers more health-conscious practices. But why look into other amenities when golf is already such a beneficial sport for your overall health? A well-balanced country club should accommodate to various lifestyles, including tennis, fitness, dieting, and socializing, as many people prefer these activities to golf.
Golf Health Benefits

The Forest is a private club that values the importance of offering different services to various lifestyles, starting with golf. Our two nature-focused and pristine golf courses provide countless health benefits, one of which is by being outside. Study shows that people who made extended visits to green spaces have lower rates of both depression and high blood pressure. Visiting green spaces of 30 minutes or more during the week could reduce the population prevalence of such illnesses by up to 7% and 9%- you can view the full article here.

Stepping outside improves your health, imagine what exercise can do? Since golf is a low-impact sport causing little stress or damage on your joints and muscles, the average playtime is roughly four hours by cart and five hours walking. Both of our courses are walkable every day after 11:00 and all day on Sundays, burning up to 360 calories an hour. Playing a round of golf, the average golfer can burn between roughly 245 to 325 calories an hour, depending on your weight. So, playing 18 holes of golf walking can burn about 1000 calories! Not to mention that exercising can improve your cardiovascular system and immune system. Thus the health benefits of playing a round of golf outside in beautiful Southwest Florida are unlimited; imagine when it is complemented with a wide range of wellness services.

Socializing Health Benefits

One of the best parts about getting out on the courses or joining our country club, in general, is the ability to integrate into a social group easily. Socializing can improve the neurons that process information allowing for a long term advantage of increased memory recall and mental acuteness. When you join our club, you can sign up one day and join a social club next. That means you won’t have to go through an awkward period waiting to be paired up or meet someone you will get along with. Feeling accompanied decreases stress and anxiety levels, so our members and staff will always make sure you feel welcomed by promoting an energetic and happy atmosphere. Our members become family and will check in on you to make sure you aren’t missing the Nine & Dine you have been planning to attend for months.

When you join a group or socialize more with the other members, you are more likely to partake in exercise by going for walks, teeing up, or playing a low-intensity game of tennis, which all improves your cardiovascular system, bone density, and respiratory function. Being around people who you can actively talk to about your day, grab a drink with, and be supportive is something that every individual needs in their life. When you have someone you can count on and laugh with; it can boost your self-esteem.

Socializing at The Forest is more than meeting up with your friends on the course, it’s about getting to know yourself. Socializing can help you find your purpose in life and help you derive meaning from your daily activities. Regardless of gender, race, age, economic standards, or education, finding your purpose is more important for your health than decreasing drinking or smoking and regularly exercising. When you surround yourself with the welcoming and positive members here, it is easy to discover your purpose. Not only do our members become family, but our staff does too! We don’t treat you like a number. Here, we are a place where everyone knows your name.
