Social Life and Your Country Club
Truth be told, a nice golf or country club might become the center of your social life. The game of golf is a lifelong endeavor. It's not only a game that the young and "not so young" can enjoy. It's a game that many of us will play for as long as we are physically able to swing a golf club. What other sport can claim that? Of course, while posting a good score is always a lot of fun for an avid golfer, it's those who we play with – our friends – that makes golf such a great game. There's no better way to make friends in the sport than getting involved in the social life of The Forest Country Club.

Belonging to a Community

Many clubs do an excellent job of building a strong community, offering multiple golf events like tournaments, leagues, and social gatherings. If you enjoy golf and social hour, and you want to share it with other people who also enjoy golf and camaraderie, becoming a member at The Forest is exactly what you'll get!

By joining The Forest, and once you start participating in the gatherings and activities we plan throughout the year, you are likely to meet many great people with similar interests. Not only can you start meeting people through golf events, like the Nine & Dine or our Member Guests Days, but your whole family can meet new friends! When it comes to our facilities and club-sponsored events, the opportunity of meeting new members and their families continues to grow. Whether it's children, grandchildren, or friends, your social life will begin to flourish. The best part is, the commute for many members is not very far, so meeting outside the club is also an option!

The Forest Country Club is conveniently located 9.4 miles away from the Southwest Florida International Airport or roughly a 15-minute drive, depending on traffic. The Forest has so much in the surrounding areas, including Bell Tower Shops, Gulf Coast, Coconut Point Malls, and, of course, beautiful white-sand beaches. We are 11.4 miles away from a seven-mile-long beautiful stretch of sand and sea known as Fort Myers Beach, home to watersports, fishing charters, shopping, and some of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see. Just off the coast, it's an easy reach to Sanibel and Captiva, some of the most unique barrier islands of the world, and winning awards for being the best shelling beach in Florida. While our members love the events and amenities we offer here at The Forest, why not get the best of both worlds thanks to our ideal location! I'm sure many of us would rather spend our time in the sand at an actual beach and not our bunkers!

Events Across the Board

The Forest is the place to be if you want to build a social and active daily lifestyle. You can become a member one day and be a social group member the next. That is the beauty of how genuine our staff and members are when it comes to a mutual understanding; this is what joining a country club is all about. We have tennis groups, bocce leagues, and event groups like the laid-back Nine & Dine, Couple's Invitational, Men's and Ladies' Invitationals, and golf associations for weekly games and camaraderie. The Forest is all about spending time with your friends and learning a little more about the game you love.

If you are a foodie, enjoy your favorite cocktail and globally-influenced culinary creations by Chef Drew and his talented team in our outdoor covered terrace, Cypress Grille Room. And don’t forget the 19th hole, where the true grandness of our game comes to fruition and where finding the bottom of the cup is often easier than it’s been all day.

The Golden Rule

When it comes to belonging to a community and creating lifelong friendships, there's hearsay about a "Golden Rule" that guarantees friendship - make others feel good about themselves. Now, I know we all have at least one friend or family member who is, simply put, a hacker; one of the great things about the game of golf is that there's always room for encouragement and compliments. We have so many members here who can share their accomplishments with their peers unlike some of our other friends who may be "social golfers." When our friends who are social golfers have a huge accomplishment, are they there to share with their friends or the club staff that has helped coach their putting techniques? That's another beauty of calling The Forest home!

Joining a country club is not just an investment in your game; it's an investment in your life, and having a great group of lifelong friends who share similar interests and cheering on your accomplishments is a huge part of that investment.

I can't think of a better way to meet and make friends.
